Crown Reduction - Crickhowell

Crown Reduction & Thinning - Gilwern

This purple Smoke Tree was getting out of control, taking over the space and blocking out the light to the beds below and into the house.
Some careful and considered removal of branches and dead wood reduced the crown height & span and reduced the overcrowding within the tree.
Conifer removal - Crickhowell

Numerous conifer (Lawson Cypress) trees had to be removed for safety reasons; there was rot in the base and neighbouring trees had already fallen down in bad weather, narrowly missing traffic on several occasions.

Ash tree removal - Llangattock

Birch and Cherry Tree removal - Sarnau near Brecon

A recent job in Sarnau, near Brecon, removing a couple of Birch trees and a Cherry tree that were interfering with BT lines and power lines, and blocking out light to the property.
Now that the front lawn area has been opened up and allowed sunlight in, new shrubs, plants and smaller varieties of trees can be planted to replace the removed trees.

Cedar Tree Maintenance - Llanfihangel Talyllyn near Llangorse

Work carried out at the top of a Cedar tree in Llanfihangel Talyllyn near Llangorse to satisfy the client's home insurance.

Storm-damaged Oak clearance - Brecon

Fir Tree Crown Lift - Brecon

These 2 Fir trees had many low-hanging branches that made the space beneath them unusable. They also encroached onto the neighbouring property making their decking area a very dark space.

The lower branches were removed to produce a much brighter area at the back of the garden. We were careful not to remove too many branches which would cause excessive stress on the trees.

Ash Trees - Crickhowell
These two 45ft tall mature Ash trees were within striking distance of the neighbouring properties causing concerns that they would cause significant damage should they fall down in a future storm.

The two trees were taken down, brash processed through the wood chipper and remaining limbs processed for firewood for the client.

Windblown trees at Brecon Corries AFC
AJ Tree Solutions were called in to deal with three trees that had been blown down in the storms earlier in the year.

The fallen trees were cut away from the root plate but because the trees had grown through the adjacent fence, the root plate had become tangled and stuck in the chainlink fence wire and did not right itself. We will undertake further work to cut away the fence and use a suitable winch to reseat the root plate so that the fence can be repaired.

Forestry Work

Recent forestry work includes felling and processing felled timber, and training in climbing, aerial tree work and aerial rigging - extremely valuable skills to have when operating in enclosed areas, sensitive sites and when conventional felling isn't a viable option.

Chainsaw Servicing - Stihl 028 AV Super

A replacement bearing cost just £7 and will prevent excessive wear and potential failure of the crankshaft and clutch assembly.
The importance of regular service and maintenance cannot be understated. A recent service of a client's chainsaw revealed that the crankshaft bearing was missing almost half of its needle rollers from the bearing cage.
